FIIFI KWETEY:NPP WILL REMAIN IN OPPOSITION

MP for Ketu South, Fiifi Kwetey is positive the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will remain in opposition.
Speaking to a group of NDC members in the Volta Region during President Mahama’s nationwide ChangingLives tour, Fiifi Kwetey said: “our opponents will always have defeat, ours is victory. They will never come back to government.”
He again stated that NPP's claim of capturing  Togolese voters in the voters register in the Volta region is an insult to residents in the region.
“For us in the Volta Region,we want to tell them that if they (NPP) think that we are Togolese then they don’t know what is coming to them. More fire from Volta Region. From Ketu South, more deadly fire…calling us Togolese is a massive insult to us…we don’t betray Ghana, we are loyal to Ghana.” Mr Kwetey added

CONFIRMED: PRAYE IS BACK

It's confirmed that Praye is back together without choirmaster (Praye Honeho).
According to a press release, the two said the comeback was due to calls from their fans and other industry players.

Read the full unedited press statement below:

The management of Broomx Entertainment wishes to officially announce a new era in Ghanaian Music. An era that was preceded with hit songs, awards and heart-stopping performances, fueled by the fans, their passion and love.

That era was however ended, when the three members of Praye, chose to go on their individual path, to find renewed inspiration. After many calls by music industry players, artistes and the fans, Praye is back. With a dedication to the fans and a determination to lift Ghana's flag high again.

We seek to mention that both members of the group (Cartel big J and Kente), wish their ex-member, Choirmaster (Praye honeho) good luck, as he is unable to pay heed to calls for a reunion at this point, but would join in due course. We seek to thank the fans for their patience over the years and appreciate their continuous support. We are "Back like we never left".

REAL MADRID TO LOOSE CRISTIANO RONALDO?

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has claimed there have been no talks between his club and Real Madrid forward Cristiano, but didn’t rule out a move for the forward.
As reported by MailOnline, PSG have been linked with a move for the 30-year-old. After the game, Al-Khelaifi was interviewed and asked whether there had been any negotiations over a possible deal for Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo has a contract with Real and we respect that,” he said, “Negotiations would be in secret but nothing for now.”
Ronaldo made comments to German magazine Kicker recently which suggested
he could be on the move. In the interview, the Portuguese said “leave Real? Why Not?”
It seems the Blancos forward could be on his way put of the Bernabeu since he has not found his goalscoring form under new boss Benitez who many pundits of the game sees him as a more of a defensive coach which is having an impact on Ronaldo's form.

INSIDE THE GYM:THE BARBELL BICEPS CURL

The barbell biceps curl targets your biceps.Be very careful if you have elbow problems.Anytime you add weight and bend a joint, it increases the stress to that joint. Therefore, if you have a weakened joint, you need to exercise extreme care not to overdo it and cause an injury. If you have lower-back problems, you may want to choose a seated biceps exercise instead.

Hold a barbell with an underhand grip and your hands about shoulder-width apart. Stand with your feet as wide as your hips, and let your arms hang down so the bar is in front of your thighs. Stand up tall with your abdominal pulled in and knees relaxed.

Bend your arms to curl the bar almost up to your shoulders, and then slowly lower the bar almost to the starting position.
DON’T swing your elbows out wide as you bend your arm to raise the weight. Keep your elbows close to your body without supporting them on the sides of your stomach for leverage.
DON’T just let the weight fall back to the starting position. Lower it slowly and with control.
Reverse-grip biceps curl (harder): Do the basic version of the barbell biceps curl holding the bar with an overhand grip. You feel this exercise more in your wrists. (Hint: Use a lighter weight for this version.)
Cable biceps curl: Place the cable on the setting closest to the floor and attach a short or long straight bar. Hold the bar with an underhand grip and stand about a foot away from the cable tower. Curl the weight up and down exactly as in the basic version of the barbell biceps curl.
Double biceps curl: Hold a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing up, elbows resting lightly against your sides, and arms hanging down. Curl the dumbbells up and down together as if they were a barbell.

RONALDO CUDDLED BY PITCH INVADER

Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score against PSG on Wednesday as Real Madrid only managed a goalless draw at the Parc des Princes against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

But that didn't stop one fan showing his appreciation for the Ballon d'or winner during the game.

A pitch invader managed to evade security long enough to hug Ronaldo, before a steward could intervene.

RIVALRY:WHO SHOULD LEAD THE GUNNERS FRONTLINE WALCOTT OR GIROUD?

OIivier Giroud and Theo Walcott's battle for Arsenal's striking berth is emerging as one of the most intriguing rivalries of the season. There have been great player rivalries over the years - Cesc Fabregas and Frank Lampard, Diego Costa and Martin Skrtel, Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira, Alan Shearer and Alf-Inge Haaland - but they are generally found between players from opposing sides (Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer aside). But manager Arsene Wenger has made it clear that Giroud and Walcott are being pitted against each other to lead the line and the players are well-aware of their situation.

Ne-Yo broke into the music industry as a songwriter, though he had a false start with a short-lived group called Envy. Prior to exiting his teenage years, he penned material for Youngstown. Shortly thereafter, he co-wrote "That Girl" for Marques Houston and "I'm Sorry" for Christina Milian; the former composition had been intended for Smith's own debut album, which was recorded for Columbia but never released. In late 2004, he became known throughout the industry as the co-writer of Mario's "Let Me Love You," one of the most-played songs on urban radio stations across the U.S.

In My Own Words came out in February 2006 and reached the top of the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop album charts, supported by the number one hit "So Sick" -- one of his many collaborations with Norwegian production duo Stargate. NEYMAR'S FATHER CONFIRMS MAN UTD'S BID IN THE SUMMER

There has been speculation Man Utd made an attempt to sign the 23-year-old Brazilian in the summer transfer window.

His father, Neymar da Silva Santos has confirmed United did make an offer for the Brazilian star but the bid was not accepted by the Catalan side.
He said: “Man United’s offer came to Barça and they told us they won’t sell.
“Barcelona does not want to sell Neymar because he has a three year contract.

Neymar joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013.

MANCHESTER UNITED: REDS HAVE TO REACT AS CHAMPIONS

Louis van Gaal admits he has spent an “awful” fortnight waiting to get his teeth into his Arsenal post-morten.
But the United manager is demanding the Reds behave and react like champions if they want to be Premier League title winners.
That ambition was dented by the 3-0 crushing at the Emirates almost two weeks ago. Most of his Reds squad flew out of London to all corners of the globe for international duty in the aftermath of the debacle in the capital.
Van Gaal has since spent a lonely time mulling over the reasons for the heavy defeat that knocked his side off top spot in the league.
“It is awful when you have such a result. It has been an awful two weeks,” said the United manager.
Manchester United will play Everton on Saturday at the Goodison Park.

One of America’s premier research institutions was hacked—and the signs point to China

Tech companies, healthcare giants, defense contractors, top universities, the US government—you name it, Chinese cyber-spies have probably hacked it. And now, it seems likely, we can add one of the world’s preeminent marine research groups to the list.
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution sustained a “sophisticated, targeted attack” that looks to have originated from China, according to Christopher Land, the organization’s general counsel and leader of its internal investigation.
If the perpetrator is indeed from the People’s Republic, it marks the latest in a series of high-profile hacks that US officials say has resulted in theft of US commercial secrets, potentially sensitive government information, and military data. With the US threatening sanctions, Chinese president Xi Jinping recently vowed not to commit commercial cyber-espionage—a pledge US officials are watching closely for signs of follow-through.
WHOI isn’t a company or a government agency, but given its close ties with the US military and the National Science Foundation, it’s not exactly a regular research institution, either. Its vast cache of research holds data on everything from bowhead whale habitats and plankton to hydrographic surveys and oceanic oxygen levels—as well as classified work WHOI does with the Navy and the US defense department.
The organization’s cyber-security team first noticed suspicious activity in late June of this year. But the breach turns out to have started back in February 2013, based on what Land learned from Mandiant, a cyber-security firm that WHOI brought in to investigate the attacks and help plug the breaches.
The attack bears the hallmarks of an APT group—that stands for “advanced persistent threat,” meaning, a long-term, covert hack—based out of China, according to Mandiant’s report to Land. Though the forensic investigation is still underway, it appears that the hackers focused on data and emails, and not personal information.
So far, there’s no sign that the hackers stole any datasets, Land says, adding that the classified research WHOI does for the Navy and the US defense department was stored on a different network from the one that was breached.
Still, the question remains: If Chinese hackers were rummaging around WHOI, what would they have been looking for? Land declined to speculate, and the breadth of WHOI’s marine-science research makes it hard to narrow things down.
However, the range of China’s commercial and strategic interests in the ocean is no less extensive—and is growing fast. China’s leaders are increasingly intent on making the nation a “maritime power” capable of defending its “maritime rights and interests.”
In June, China’s cabinet broadened the focus of its naval strategy to include not only territorial waters but also “open seas protection.” Meanwhile, a new “Maritime Silk Road” plan is meant to facilitate regional maritime economic development.
China’s high-seas fishing fleet is the planet’s largest (paywall), making international waters a source of increasing strategic importance, according to a recent World Bank report (pdf, p.42). Far to the north, China seems to view the Northern Sea Route—the shipping shortcut to Europe via the Arctic that global warming has helped open up—as a strategic priority. China now boasts the world’s biggest conventionally powered icebreaker (pdf, p.36); a second is under construction. Those will also be of use at the opposite pole—China now has four Antarctic stations and is investing rising sums into research there (paywall).
Then, of course, there are the country’s territorial claims—notably China’s claim to more than four-fifths of the South China Sea, water that teems with valuable fish and is thought to sit atop even more valuable deposits of oil and natural gas.
Interestingly enough, recent reports of a cyber attack on an international court in The Hague came in the midst of a hearing on the Philippines’ contest of China’s South China Sea claim. As you might have guessed, security experts are saying the attack came from China.

A new register will eradicate doubt in 2016

If a new electoral register will engender confidence in the electoral process as far as the 2016 elections are concerned, then “let’s do it,” former President Jerry Rawlings has said.

“Everything possible must be done to ensure a very credible electoral process. If this means that we listen to what some of the elders are saying, the Churches etc., to examine what’s going on, to give the registry, the electoral process into the elections a very credible climate, a very credible instrument, platform, I think let’s do it,” Mr Rawlings said when pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) paid him a courtesy call Wednesday, October 14, 2015.

He said this as a result of pressure mounted on the EC to make a new electoral

Anas' guy rescued by the police.

The Police have rescued Ishmael Hussein,a member of Tiger Eye PI team after he was taken hostage in Tamale on Saturday morning. According to the police, one person has been arrested in connection with the reported abduction of Ishmael Hussein. The reason for Hussein’s kidnap was not known but the police suspect it has something to do with the recent exposĂ© of corruption in the judiciary by Anas. The P.R.O of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh made this known in an interview with Joy News. According to the police, Hussein visited his family house in Tamale When he was identified and detained by one guy who was currently in police custody. The said person later called another person and they took him to two different places, one of which was a shop that belongs to a relative of an implicated person in the judicial corruption scandal. It was at that shop that the police managed to rescue him. ASP Tetteh explained the matter was still being investigated and cannot give much details as of now.

Oop!!!! Heavy smoking and drinking ages you?

Cigarette smoking and heavy alcohol use cause epigenetic changes to DNA that reflect accelerated biological aging in distinct, measurable ways, according to research. The researchers estimated biological age using a previously validated epigenetic "clock" , calculated the difference between biological age and chronological age, and assessed the relationship between tobacco and alcohol use and premature aging.
